Media Requests for Interviews/Information
The Office of Communications fosters positive relationships with local and national media. We strive to provide timely, proactive, and responsive information to media inquiries and actively promote the City’s projects, programs, and initiatives.
All media requests for interviews or information at City Hall should be directed to the Office of Communications. The Office will work diligently to ensure that all media requests to meet with public officials or obtain public documents are addressed promptly.
Meeting Deadlines: We understand the importance of meeting deadlines. To that end, we ask our media partners to submit requests in a timely manner and ensure that these requests are clear and concise.
Please include the following information in your request:
- Name
- Media organization
- Contact information
- Story angle
- Examples of questions you’d like to ask
- If you’d like to conduct the interviews in person, by phone, or via web conferencing
- Deadline
We will evaluate your request and provide information as it becomes available from our subject matter experts. Please understand that some sensitive information may not be provided if it relates to litigation, personnel, or development contracts with non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
A successful partnership starts with clear guidelines of how we can best provide the information you need in a timely manner. The Office of Communications strives to respond within two hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
